Police were dispatched to the Tepe residence on North Fourth Street after Spencer Tepe failed to report to work. Responding officers found both victims deceased inside the home from gunshot wounds, while two minor children were located unharmed.

Detectives located the vehicle in Rockford, Illinois, and allege evidence showed McKee in possession of it during and after the killings. Arrest warrants were issued, and the case is now proceeding through the Franklin County criminal court system.
